Palin is hot so I'm rootin for her and McCain in this one. Sweet, so you prove your political idiocy. Just like McCain did by picking her. If ya'd rather see Biden nude thats fine by me, its personal prefrence I guess. Acctually now that I think about it I want Palin and McCain to lose so playboy can offer her a couple mil to pose nude. If she wont do it for that throw in a life time supply of ciggs for this smokin VP.

You can chose to believe that Barr is masquerading as a Libertarian based on his voting record from 6+ years ago. I on the other hand believe that he abandoned the republican party for a reason, and that he chose the Libertarian Party and will place my faith in the fact that he did that because his viewpoints changed. Honestly, I think he changed his viewpoints just to get the nomination of the most popular and respected 3rd party when it was in a state of weakness with no other real candidates. It gives him some popularity, but should he ever be elected, I doubt we'd see any different from the Bob Barr before his "change of heart." My bad on the abortion, drugs, and gay marriage issues. I obviously did just skim his issues and didn't read the last few lines. Most of those are typical conservative viewpoints except Homeland Security. I said he didn't seem like a Libertarian because he was just a typical economic conservative who liked to infringe upon social rights. Obviously in the past two years he's changed that, but it's really odd for someone to be so staunchly against gay marriage and drugs that he pushes acts against them, then do a complete 180 and join a more liberal party. I'm really more of a Kuncich/Gravel/Paul guy as far as independents go. They all claim to be a part of a major party, but they're some of the most extreme politicians in the country. I know the three of them decently well, as well as the obvious Edwards, Obama, Clinton, Huckabee, McCain, and Romney. After all those comes Nader, who I still need to watch/listen to more of, and everyone else. So guys like Bob Barr, basically non-mainstream conservatives, take a back seat because I know I won't like their platforms, anyway. Barr's platform has changes in accordance with the Libertarian platform, but I highly doubt doing a 180 on some issues in such a short time is honest unless he's been tripping on acid or smoking a bunch of weed. Agreed. Really, Obama's probably the best mainstream candidate to come along in a long time, and I still don't support him. He's way too conservative for me.

I just don't want my VP to be shown up by anyone that interviews him/her. Makes us look a hell of a lot dumber than we are...or not?

how is obama too conservative for you when he has had the most liberal voting record in the senate Having the most liberal voting record in a group of 100 doesn't really mean anything. Besides, he's changed a bunch of his liberal views to become more centrist for the election. If he had the most liberal voting record in all of Congress, and actually stuck to his views, like Dennis Kucinich, then that'd be a real point. I'm too much of a progressive hippie for Barack Obama.

Hey Indy, how familiar are you with the government of Sweden? Not much, really. I've read its wikipedia page and then some side research on that and some other similar governments like Denmark, but Switzerland is by far my favorite. Most countries in that general area have pretty cool governments, though.

The only thing is that medical, dental, retirement, etc. is all paid for by the government.

I can't remember the specific one, maybe the Netherlands, could be Denmark, but they actually pay their citizens to go to college. They were ranked one of, if not the, happiest country in the world.

One of the things that people tend to overlook when it come to countries in Europe, such as the Netherlands, is that they're small countries. The Netherlands, Switzerland, Leichtenstein, Monaco and Denmark is that they're so small that their population is not that big and thus making it possible for everyone to have easier access to everything and be taxed higher.

Sweden has a population of just over 9 million. I was going to bring that up but got busy at work. A great point though.

Yeh, it makes them much easier to run when people can actually see their tax dollars going to work. I think it gives the people more of a sense of unity, too. The U.S. easily could've been that way, though, had the states remained sovereign. We'd be more like the European Union.
